Pastoral Care
Visitation Committee
The Visitation Committee's goal is to visit members of St. Matthew's Church who are unable to participate in the activities of the church on a regular basis. Our group meets bimonthly and we discuss and learn ways to facilitate and assist our parishioners with their individual and unique needs. We strive to bring them the "spirit" of St. Matthew's and help them feel a part of the ongoing life of our church.
Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee hosts events ranging from receptions for the Bishop and Confirmation class to the Lenten dinners and breakfasts served for the choirs between the Easter services.
Marriage Ministry
St. Matthew’s Marriage Ministry has two facets: mentoring of engaged couples and occasional discipleship opportunities for married couples.
The foundation of the mentoring program is the volunteer married couples who have been trained as marriage mentors. These couples meet with the engaged couples over a number of months, with the goals of helping the engaged couple explore their relationship and discuss all issues related to their marriage and to foster a realistic understanding of what is required to ensure a lifelong, committed relationship to God and each other. This mentoring supplements the pre-marital counseling provided by the clergy.
