Monthly Groups

Empty Nesters

The empty-nest season is much like Jell-O, hard to grab hold of and constantly changing shape. There’s no mold that we can pass on to others, no consistency. The empty nest affects each person differently, but there is comfort through friends who can reassure us that what we are experiencing is normal and who can remind us of a God who does have a plan.

Attend a Empty Nester meeting if you are experiencing this season - regardless of whether your first child is going to college or your children have been out of the nest for years. Each person has a unique story and practical tips to share. You will experience a lively discussion, based on Susan Yates’ book The Empty Nest.

For more information contact Lissa (288-8010) or 673-7212.

Women of the Well - WOW

WOW! (Women of the Well)

Women of the Well (WOW) is an outreach program of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church to women aged 20 – 120. The purpose of this ministry is to gather women together to encourage one another, develop relationships, small prayer/study groups of common interest and mentoring opportunities. The women of St. Matthew’s and our community are invited to come together at the W.E.L.L. (Women Engaged in Laughter and Learning) for fellowship and to draw strength, encouragement and direction from one another and most importantly, from Scripture. It is a place for women to find common ground with one another and establish relationships for further prayer and study. The goal of the gatherings is to be inclusive and to focus on areas that are common to all women.

For the 2009-10 year WOW will hold three celebrationis, focusing on God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Click here to learn the dates and speakers.

Contact for information.

Circles

Three Circles at St. Matthew's make important contributions to our Pastoral Care ministry. St. Margaret's Circle provides spiritual support and fellowship for members and furthers God's kingdom through good works in our community and church using the talents God has given us. St. Agnes' Circle and St. Hilda's Circle perform similar ministries. All engage in Bible studies, devotional readings, service projects in and around the church and fund raising.

St. Agnes’ Circle

Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:30 am at various locations.

St. Hilda’s Circle

Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 10:30 am in the Library, September through May.

St. Margaret’s Circle

An organization of approximately 30 women who meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the Library for Bible study and fellowship. The circle conducts several fundraising projects each year that enable us, with the support of the congregation, to provide financial support to the young people of our congregation and other outreach projects. New members are warmly welcome.
