Langano Farms Update 10/5

Hi All,

I wanted to confirm with you that things have fallen into place perfectly to obtain a site survey of Langano Farms. We had desired a professional land survey of the project from the very beginning to help map out the farm, provide for an orderly sequence of projects and drawings as we vision cast, and record the history of this project on behalf of the local community so they can take this experience and “pay it forward” down the road with their neighbors by helping them do the same.

God has provided a very gifted Professional Land Surveyor by the name of David Haywood. He has surveyed projects in the Charlotte area to include Concord Mills Mall (the largest tourist attraction in North Carolina...funny…huh?), Lowe’s home improvement and the IKEA store locations, Corning plant, etc.

“Yes”, he is way overqualified but nonetheless one of the most humble people I have met. He has never traveled outside of the U.S.A. and only just recently applied/received his passport to travel internationally for the first time. Last week, he received his yellow fever shot, rabies shot, hepatitis A shot, started his typhoid pills and is planning to get the rest in the coming weeks before we depart Charlotte on November 9th. Though David’s employer is giving him the time off from work, it is probable that he will lose the two weeks of income. All of this at once is a lot on David’s shoulders…

I am humbled by David’s leap of faith and his heart to serve a people and community he has never met. But as a child of Christ, he has peace and clarity about the mission ahead of him. I ask that you lift David’s family to the Lord for protection and that God would bless him and his family in ways they have never seen before. I also ask for your prayers as we continue to get ready for this quick trip. Please pray:

· that we can obtain survey equipment from somewhere at a reasonable price

· for good health as David and I prepare to leave Charlotte November 9th

· for safety while in Ethiopia November 9th thru November 19th (we return to Charlotte on November 20th)

· that we would accomplish the survey with detail and accuracy

· for the Langano Farms workers/community in that they would come to know Christ in a miraculous way as many in the area already have

· for wisdom for Kaweti as he manages the project while I am away

· for our families while we are gone
